FAQ

We verify our listings with a 4 step algorithm that checks listing information and photos against RentCast, a database with over 160M properties.

We ask 4 questions to determine if a listing is a scam or not:

  1. Does the listing appear in our database?
  2. Does the listing information (square footage, Bed/Bath, and location) match our database?
  3. Do the photos provided appear on any other listings, and if so are those websites associated with the same listing?
  4. Does the price make sense for the area and local market?

Yes!

Once you create an account, we provide an in-depth explanation of our verdict. Users can also ask a follow up question about the legitimacy of the listing. Creating an account is a great way to review previous searches, browse similar properties, and verify new listings with our algorithm.

The FTC recommends requesting in-person or live video tours of the property. Additionally, avoid common pressure tactics that scammers use to pressure you into sending them money via wire transfer, gift cards, or payment apps.
